Instructions for generating a diagnostic log file
The diagnostic log file enables me to diagnose problems on
your system by logging the responses to and from your news
server. By looking at these responses, I can usually figure out
what the problem is and come up with a fix. To generate a
diagnostic log, follow these steps:
- Load up SBNews.
- Select the pull-down menu option "Configure"
and "Default Command Line Switches"
- On the command line switch dialog, check the box next to
'-diag: Diagnostic log"
- Press OK to exit the dialog, and then close and exit
SBNews completely.
- Restart SBNews and replicate the problem.
- Exit SBNews once the problem has occurred
- There will be a file called 'diagnost.log' in your SBNews
directory. Send this file to me via email at smbaker@primenet.com
- Once you have completed this process, you should load up
SBNews and disable diagnostic logging
